Pele - Goddess of volcanoes, fire and lightnings | Tectonic

Diptych | Bas-reliefs

Unique Brass Frame

Orbital Metal

“For the diptych D12, I designed a bespoke frame as an extension of the artwork itself, entering into dialogue with the painting — much like Degas conceived the act of framing. The raw brass carries the patina of time: a cosmic patina shaped by light and trajectory, like a spatial artifact bearing the memory of our civilization and the mark of our era.” — Virginie Knysak

Technique of the Artist

Conceived, designed and executed by Virginie Knysak

The tonal variations emerge from Virginie Knysak’s distinctive artistic process, rooted in the exploration of raw natural pigments and the development of her own formulas, giving rise to unique gouache hues and a mineral depth to the surface.

She employs the laser as a medium of creation, burning and marking the surface with luminous imprints — traces of fire that echo the primal forces embodied by Pélé.
