CONCEPTUAL FINE ART - GRAVITATIONAL ARCHITECTURE

Numbered artworks and limited editions conceived and executed by Virginie Knysak.
Paris-based artist developing a practice structured through visual art and spatial form.

Trained at Nissim de Camondo in Paris, she founded FLASHDESIGN Studio in 2007. Alongside her work in creative direction for major luxury houses on international projects, her independent artistic practice gradually became the central axis of her evolving body of work.

Rooted in the French Arts Decoratifs tradition, her work evolved beyond functional constraints. What began as collectible Art Design evolved into a self-directed practice where perception becomes central.

Her approach explores structure, rhythm and synchronicity as dynamic systems within an ongoing continuum - freeing form from function while affirming its intrinsic presence.

This trajectory found expression in a solo exhibition during Art Basel Week 2025, affirming the full autonomy of her artistic practice, as part of an ongoing continuum driven by conceptual construction and mechanical form infused with poetry.

A Silent Dialogue with Time

Her approach engages with time across multiple dimensions — from measurable physical processes to lived experience, as defined by Bergson’s philosophy, and synchronicity — unfolding as an interpretation of matter in continuous transformation, at the threshold of its origin.

Suspended Motion

Her practice explores structure, rhythm and synchronicity as dynamic systems. Time becomes tangible — captured, slowed, made perceptible through matter and light.

Through a singular signature technique uniting gouache, pastel and assemblage, layered natural pigments unfold into earthy, hazy tonalities.

Often developed on a champagne-toned paper with sandy translucence, the surface evokes stone, dust and aged matter.

Mechanical geometries drift within this field — from radiant energy toward stillness.

The Times Overlap

She works at the intersection of traditional techniques and advanced technologies.

Each project originates from a formalized concept, first articulated through drawing as a field of visual expression, then translated into digital modeling and programmed systems. Manual gesture and algorithmic logic operate within the same continuum, generating forms that oscillate between control and emergence.

She conducts her own material and technical experimentations — calibrating settings, adjusting laser power, refining each sequence — so that, guided by precise CAO drawings yet shaped by the variable intensity of heat, every creation — whether collage, lithograph, or bas-relief — arises from a deliberate tension between mastery and unpredictability, giving each work a distinct presence and material resonance.

Ongoing & Forthcoming

A new body of work developed between 2024 and 2025 will be unveiled throughout 2026.
In parallel, she is developing an immersive project scheduled for 2027.
